HBO Max may have canceled Scoob! : The holiday haunt, but that doesn’t mean there won’t be a Scooby-Doo special for kids this fall. The big difference? It’s a Halloween special, rather than the Christmas movie fans expected. Today, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment revealed that Trick-or-Treat, Scooby-Doo! will be available for purchase on digital platforms from October 4 and on DVD on October 18. Rather than the star-studded stunt cast of Scoob! movies, the film will feature the familiar voice talents of Frank Welker as Scooby-Doo/Fred Jones, Gray DeLisle as Daphne Blake, Matthew Lillard as Shaggy Rogers, and Kate Micucci as Velma Dinkley.
In addition to the announcement, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has released a trailer for the film, which shows familiar enemies from classic Scooby-Doo adventures…but in an unexpected way. Unexpected, but perfect for a Scooby-Doo! Halloween special.
You can see the trailer below.
No word yet on digital pricing for the film, but the MSRP for Trick-or-Treat, Scooby-Doo! on DVD is $19.99. A listing was live, but not active, here on Amazon at the time of writing. The disc will also contain three bonus episodes, “El Bandito”, “Headless Horseman of Halloween” and “To Switch a Witch”. Warner’s scooby-doo titles typically release at Walmart, Target, and all manner of online retailers, so don’t be surprised to see these records hit shelves just in time for spooky season.
You can see the official synopsis for the film below.
