The actress who plays her is a closely guarded secret and it may not be Amber Heard.

The source who first told Abdul Ben Affleck he was on set and was going to be in the lost kingdom as Batman also shared someone else in a Mera costume, though they didn’t see who.

As we are still inundated with rumors that Heard’s scenes were cut or even deleted or extended, Abdul insisted on further answers. Unfortunately, the only one he got was, “They don’t know.”

It’s possible that Mera’s parts were just point-and-shoots requiring a simple body double, but the question of why the actress’ identity is top secret has been raised.

The obvious sequel, of which the founder of Geekosity Mikey Sutton Asked, is “if it’s heard, why hide it?” She’s been slated for the next Aquaman movie since the jump. Even though her story in her case against Johnny Depp played out, her place seemed secure.

This is despite petitions asking that she be fired and replaced by Emilia Clarke reaching over two million signatures and DC Films chief Walter Hamada admitting he wanted to let Heard go due to his issues with his chemistry face. to Jason Momoa.

Hamada said during the trial, “It was the concerns that came up at the end of the first movie, the production of the first movie, which was the issue of chemistry. Did the two have chemistry?

I think editorially they managed to make that relationship work in the first movie, but there were concerns that it took a lot of effort to get there. And would we be better off recasting, finding someone who had more natural chemistry with Jason Momoa and moving forward that way?

In later testimony, he claimed that the chemistry seen on screen was an illusion created by the editing and the music, “You can kind of manufacture that chemistry.”

He explained, “I think if you look at the movie they seemed to have great chemistry, but I just know that during post-production it took a lot of effort to get there. . Sometimes not. Sometimes it’s very easy, just put the characters together on screen and they work, and sometimes it’s more difficult.

Calls to replace Heard fell on deaf ears – at least until David Zaslav was there to hear them, it seems. He’s in a position to decide where DC goes from here and according to other rumors he won’t be happy until he gets what he wants.

In Aquaman’s case, he’s dissatisfied with something although it’s unclear what. It might be Amber Heard, but either way, Zaslav and Warner have delayed it until Christmas next year to apparently extend post-production.

They may also be taking the time to clean Heard from the picture, but why they keep the identity of his replacement near the vest, if indeed they are, is a mystery.

Could it be that Emilia Clarke finally got that phone call? We can say then that it is worth not spoiling the surprise.
