The brand new hellraiser adaptation of the creative team originally from last year The night house got a release date, with the film debuting on Hulu in October. Just last week, the film got an official R rating, confirming the project was finished, sparking speculation about when the project might be unveiled. Hulu has confirmed that its release will be part of their annual “Huluween” celebration, which highlights a number of diverse horror offerings that will be made available to subscribers, which often include premieres of unsettling original content. Hulu also shared the announcement teaser below, which offers our first look at the new “Pinhead.” hellraiser will debut on Hulu on October 7.
The new film is described, “In the brand new hellraisera young woman struggling with addiction comes into possession of an ancient puzzle box, unaware that her purpose is to summon the Cenobites, a group of sadistic supernatural beings from another dimension.”
The ensemble cast includes Odessa A’zion (Family, Grand Army), Jamie Clayton (The L word: Generation Q, Sense8), Adam Faison (Everything will be alright, yes day), Drew Starkey (External banks, the devil all the time), Brandon Flynn (Pawl, 13 reasons why), Aoife Hinds (The long call, normal people), Jason Liles (Stereoscope, Carnage), Yinka Olorunefe (The carrier), Selina Lo (boss level, Q8 unleashed), Zachary Hing (Halo), Kit Clarke (Leonardo“), with Goran Visnjic (The boys, Timeless) and Hiam Abbas (Succession, Blade Runner 2049).
At Hulu Original, in association with Spyglass Media Group, the film reunites director David Bruckner, screenwriters Ben Collins and Luke Piotrowski, writer/producer David S. Goyer and producer Keith Levine, all of whom teamed up on the 2020s . The night house, along with producers Clive Barker and Marc Toberoff and executive producers Gary Barber, Peter Oillataguerre and Todd Williams. Chris Stone and Gracie Wheelan are co-producers.
“From the moment I first read ‘The Hellbound Heart,’ Clive Barker became one of my literary heroes,” producer David S. Goyer said in a statement about the project earlier this year. . “His work is transgressive and completely redefines the horror genre. Under the direction of David Bruckner, we go back to the source and draw inspiration from this original short story.”
Barker added: “Having seen some of the designs for David Bruckner’s new Hellraiser movie, they pay homage to what the first movie created, but then take it to places it’s never been before. That’s a Hellraiser on a scale that I simply made’ David and his team are steeped in the mythology of the story, but what excites me is their desire to honor the original while revolutionizing it for a new generation.
