Veteran actor Danny Huston joined Bill Skarsgard and FKA Twigs in The crowthe new comic book adaptation created by James O’Barr.
Rupert Sanders is directing the feature which has now been in production for weeks in the Czech Republic.
Crow was an independent comic book written and drawn by James O’Barr in the late 1980s that told the dark story of a man and his fiancée who are mugged and killed by a gang after the couple’s car breaks down . The man is resurrected by a crow and takes revenge on those who took his life and the life of his love.
It was adapted into a 1994 film starring Brandon Lee, who died after an accident with a gun on set. Several sequels and a series followed.
Zach Baylin wrote the script for this version, which sees Skarsgard playing the man out for revenge.
Details of Huston’s character have not been revealed.
The producers are Molly Hassell (brave, terminal), Victor Hadida (resident Evil and silent Hill franchisees), John Jencks (Honest Thief, Guns Akimbo), and original Raven producer, Edward R. Pressman.
CAA Media Finance handles the film’s domestic distribution rights while FilmNation Entertainment handles international sales.
Genre fans may know Huston for playing the villain in X-Men Origins: Wolverine as well as that of Gal Godot wonder woman. The actor has a run on the hit series Yellowstone as well as HBO’s acclaimed Succession.
He is replaced by UTA, Untitled Entertainment, Julian Belfrage Associates and Myman Greenspan.
